Finally took a walk
Mar. 25th, 2010 04:49 pm...it's been one of those weeks when things were too frantic at work to take a break and get some exercise. But tomorrow is a holiday...which I will spend scrubbing the kitchen floor and cleaning up the living room so my neighbor isn't totally grossed out when she comes to take care of the cats. Still - housework counts as exercise.
Nice to get in a little knitting, too, although I stopped knitting on the way back to just enjoy the lovely sunny day. Finally finished the first Pyroclastic sock, which is wonderful and odd and fits perfectly, so working on the 2nd - wish there was any hope of finishing it in time to wear them in DC, I'm really curious to see what they are like in use, but that seems unlikely. I only have 6 more rows on the bottom edge of my Icelandic shawl, and I think I will do the top edge - I loved the shape of the edge when I was working on the bottom-up part, but it gets rather odd lumps now in the down-from-the-bottom section; hopefully an edging will even that out. But with luck, I can get it finished and blocked this weekend, so that will be the March shawl. I've cast on Saroyan for plane knitting, and packed yarn and instructions for Haruni, in case I need something for the flight back - it violates my intent to do all the shawls with a different basic form, but a) it uses the same size needles as I'm taking for Saroyan; b) it takes only a couple of balls of sock yarn, so the yarn doesn't take up much room and c) I keep seeing all these pictures of people wearing triangular shawls sort of scarf-style and i want one. in blue. now. we'll see how the time goes.
