i certainly seem to be busy enough, but there doesn't seem to be anything to say about it.
i suppose i could rhapsodize about figs. all of a sudden, there are fresh figs everywhere. the local market had big boxes (well, about one lb) of mixed local organic figs, trader joe had boxes of organic figs, one of my coworkers has boxes of fresh-off-the-tree organic figs...and i now have a lot of fresh organic figs. and they are _good_.
in years past, there have occasionally been fresh figs, but i remember them as expensive and not all that great. these are like honey on the inside, but still - well, not firm, but not all mushy. they feel like velvet or some sort of flower petal. and i just remembered some fantastic chocolate covered figs i had a couple of years ago, which inspires me to make ....drat, what is that wonderful melted chocolate and cream concoction called? (except one of my coworkers makes it with buttermilk - still tasty but not _quite_ so outrageously caloric. except i need to go to two stores to get both decent chocolate and buttermilk. ah well).(drat, and i want to get some greek yogurt, too, to have yogurt and figs and honey for breakfast. guess i'll just _have_ to make do with the cream.....)
well, apparently this is why i have nothing to say - my brain has turned to figs.
(...wonder how you make figgy pudding?)
