the trunk is miniscule, but we've already been on our first big shopping trip - actually, there are advantages to having a convertible (with fold-down rear seats) when you've got a lot of stuff:

anyway, it's pretty fun. angelina, however, was unimpressed:

as to the whole fuel economy thing - all i can say is, this is a pretty small engine, and it was the highest-rated of the conventional-engine cars i looked at - and pretty high up among conventional engines in general. which, as i said before, i think says most about what we are willing (or rather, not willing) to demand in the way of fuel efficiency. the real question is how well it will do in day-to-day driving - i was able to consistenly beat the ratings with the acura, we'll see how well i do with this.
