more knitting
Jul. 14th, 2007 07:58 pmspent most of the week working on my pi shawl, but today i put in some time on the car cover - i'd like to get it done asap. it's a pretty simple design - just a rectangle, and i'll add some ties to keep it on the seat:

interesting to see a picture of it - the areas of color aren't nearly as clear when i am knitting on it. the blue is a bit lighter than the car. those are size 13 needles, so it does go pretty fast. it's done in a brioche rib stitch, so lots of texture. we will see what it will be like to sit on. it needs to be about 12-18 inches longer, but i did about 30 inches today, so one more good session should finish it. but tonight i want to put in a bit more time on the shawl - i should be able to finish the first lace section, and move it onto the longer dp needles. either way, i will put up a picture tomorrow.
in other news, i bought 2 more tomato plants, for a total of 9 - which is way too many for a patio the size of mine. i keep buying them at henry's, and they put the name on a label on the size of the pot - which means when you replant it, you lose the label...so not real sure what all i have, now. one of the ones i got today was a gold medal - which is a type of tomato i love, but one which i have had very little success in growing. the plant is already pretty good size, though, so maybe it will make it. we will see if it actually produces tomatos - the gold medals should be beefsteak-size, but i may not get enough light for those to really go. right now i have a collection of little tiny tomatos on my stupice - which probably means i should take it out, it's from last year, and should produce fruit more like 2-3" in diameter. i also have 3 green tomatoes on some sort of stuffing tomato....from henry's, so i don't know the name.
anyway, better get back to my knitting - first, however, better pay some bills.
