ready to defend democracy!
Nov. 2nd, 2008 05:40 pmall three of us:

well, i'm not sure that they are defending democracy so much as checking out some critter on the patio...but they _look_ patriotic!
i should say - i don't usually outfit my cats by event. this was just a fortuitous conjunction of events.
last night i heard angelina suddenly break into profanity. i could see fred wasn't anywhere near her, so i was a bit panicked. turned out she had a thread from her collar (which has been sort of disintegrating) stuck in her teeth. so i freed her and took off the collar. this morning i outfitted her with one of fred's old collars.
i've gotten perhaps a little neurotic about keeping them in collars. they are both chipped, but they would have to be taken to animal control or a vet to have the chip, and the information pertaining to it, discovered. i figure with a collar, people can see they belong to someone, and if the cat is caught (or, in my nightmares, found dead), it's faster to notify me (the tag has my number).
ANYWAY: had angelina in a temporary collar, made a note to myself to try to get by the pet store to get a new one. then this morning, fred came by for pets, and i realized that he had lost _his_ collar. then the guy i usually work for on sundays called to say he had some other things he had to get done today, so i found myself with shopping time. so i cruised by petsmart to see what they had...and they had exactly 2 lovely red-white-and-blue collars. well, how could i resist?
so they are now ready for the election. i've done my on-line poll-worker training, and have my manuals (which i need to read), so hopefully i am ready for the election. and i hope everyone else out there is ready to go out and vote - for obama, at the very least, and maybe some other democrats as well.
i so hope everything goes smoothly this year. it would be so wonderful to go to bed tuesday night, knowing that change was at hand.
