the joys of fresh air.
Jul. 24th, 2006 01:24 pmso my big weekend project was replacing all the screens my darling angelina kitten had poked holes in. i've been sleeping with all the windows tightly shut, to prevent any midnight escapes, and it has _not_ been pleasant, what with the heat wave and all. (ok, so we are only in the upper 80's - BUT I HAVE NO AIRCONDITIONING! AND IT'S MUGGY! so there.)
it really wasn't too hard, although oddly, the first screen was the easiest, and the last one was the hardest. in fact, i thought i would never get the rubber tubing stuff back in - and it was the only one i reused the same tubing that had been in it. so they aren't all perfectly taut, and the screening isn't all perfectly square to the frame - but i have ventilation! (and longer dowels, so the windows only open an inch or so).
i also got 'pet-proof' screen....we will see how well that works. maybe. if i ever leave the windows open wider than an inch again.
