this is why i never get anything done
Apr. 7th, 2008 12:42 amok, remember that whole list of projects i had yesterday? after writing all that up, naturally i decided i had to start knitting something with the new yarn. i'm working with the noro silk garden chunky, and making it along the lines of the "wide triangular" shawl in victorian lace today (the book under the piece- you can see what the shawl is supposed to look like).

this is where i am after using most of one skein - so i'm going to end up with more of a neckerchief than a shawl. but it gives me a change to use some beads (i've been thinking about adding beads to _something_ for a couple of months now). these beads are a little light for this yarn, but they look good. and i think this pattern shows the colors well - it lets them stay in a nice block, so they don't get diluted. and it's a real quick knit (at least, with this amount of yarn) - should have it done in by midweek...if i don't let something else distract me.
