decided i should post some of my handiwork, as i seem to be really focused on knitting lately.

this is my version of the tubey sweater - mostly leftover yarn from the afghan, with a couple new skeins of green and multicolor green to fill it out:

finished it about a month ago, and i've actually already worn it a couple of times, to plays at the festival stage (the outdoor theatre at san diego's old globe) - quite nice and cozy.  it is nice and stretchy, which is good, because i am a bit stouter than i hoped i would be when it came time to wear it.

right now, i am trying to get a lace-knit tank top done to wear over a couple of pastel camisoles i have - this is what i've got so far:

pretty close to binding off for the armholes.

then, i have decided to join a knitalong at knitpicks.com - a lace pi shawl, from elizabeth zimmerman's knitter's almanac.  have the yarn already (knitpicks had a sale on yarns, including lace weights - actually, the tank-top yarn is from the same sale).  i've been wanting to make a lace shawl, and this seemed a good excuse.  so i've ordered the book, and it should come next week, and i can start then.

so of course, i have decided that what i _really_ need to do is knit a seat cover for the car...because when i went to michael's to get stitch markers and a row counter to use with the shawl, i noticed they had these super-size balls of lilly's sugar'n'cream cotten yarn.  doing just a quick thing on large needles - hopefully, it will get done quickly.  turns out, the thing about having a convertible is that if you park it with the top down in the summer, the seats get really hot.  hopefully, this will help.  i'm just going to make a sort of rectangular thing, with some ties to tie it to the seat.
