and pretty pleased. i was a little bummed after i finished knitting, because it was so short - figured it would fit around my shoulders, but just barely. i expected it would get a lot wider once the dropped stitches were pulled out, and i considered just ripping it all out and starting narrower, but i figured i might as well see how unravelling it came out. and it was amazing! it actually increased more in length (50%, from 45 to 68 in) than in width (a mere 40%, from 10 to 14). i will probably be up nights figuring out how that works, but i'm really thrilled with the result. this means it should work perfectly for its intended purpose, as a light wrap to go with my W - but it's narrow enough, I can also wear it as a scarf. see?

by itself (i may actually be rather sad to see the wisteria bloom this year, it does make a convenient thing to showcase shawls).
as a wrap:

and a scarf:

colors in the pics are actually pretty good, although the weather is grey. it was beautiful and bright and sunshiny when i woke up, but by the time i finished breakfast it had greyed up....hope it doesn't start raining, i can do the grocery shopping today.
not sure about blocking this - it's a cotton/acrylic blend, so i don't know if blocking will do much, and with the weather like this, it will take forever to dry. it will be a little while till it's warm enough to wear, so i'll rethink it then. haven't decided if i will post this for 10 shawls in 2010 - it meets the yardage requirements, but just barely - i may hold it in reserve, if i need something to fill in a month, if one of the other shawls (like the thordis...sigh) takes way more than a month to complete.
oh - and i was so thrilled with the results, i immediately cast on a clapotis. that one's definitely going to be more a scarf - i have about 1/4 the yardage in the instructions, and i want it long. really eager to see how the colors come out - it's one of those japanese yarns, with really long color runs, and a bit of a surprise in the middle.
